September 11th UPDATE
Chat Suites are being fully implemented across all Aegis Living communities – a private room where our residents can virtually and safely connect with friends and family, as well as their doctors for telehealth appointments. Already, the Chat Suites are being used for a variety of celebrations and keeping our residents connected with their loved ones. At Rodger’s Park in Queen Anne, one of our residents celebrated his 100th birthday using our Chat Suite to host a virtual birthday party. Take a look at this special video below to see how our Chat Suites are impacting our residents and bringing us closer together while staying safe and social distancing. (Click image to watch.)
Where We Stand Today
Safety for our staff and residents is our top priority, and we are working diligently to keep the virus out of our communities. This week we are managing seven positive cases in our communities. Amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, we have three positive, and four cases among our 2,500 staff members. The communities managing the virus this week include Newcastle, West Seattle, Queen Anne on Galer, and Corte Madera. As always, we are conducting rigorous contact tracing and testing to control the spread and protect our residents and staff. We’re dedicated to transparency and are in constant contact with resident families and the staff affected about the results of the testing in our communities.

A Socially Distanced End of Summer BBQ
At our communities, it’s our mission to bring joy and fun experiences into the lives of our residents. To celebrate the sunshine and the last bit of summer after Labor Day, we hosted our third “campout” themed barbecue lunch at our Callahan House community in Shoreline. Our residents enjoyed all the fixings of a great BBQ including baked beans, chips, and burgers prepped by our fantastic chef! The Life Enrichment team went the extra mile to make it special and even put up a tent in our courtyard to play up the camping vibes. To make sure we’re socially distanced, we’ve hosted this barbecue for the last three Monday’s in a row so that we could ensure all our residents had their time to be outside and enjoy enough space.
