November 25th Update
Making Thanksgiving Memorable
Our teams have been working hard to create a wonderful holiday program that will allow our residents to celebrate the season safely. Our communities are now filled with festive décor, residents are enjoying a variety of community gratitude activities, and everyone is looking forward to the “Any Way You Slice It” pie bar with to-go apple, pumpkin, pecan pies and more. The teams are scheduling visits in our Outdoor Living Rooms and Chat Suites for families to enjoy. For those of you coming to the Outdoor Living Rooms, be prepared to enjoy seasonal scents, decorations and music. It’s sure to be a memorable day for each and every one of our residents.

Where We Stand Today
We are entering the Thanksgiving holiday with heightened infection control and safety protocols as we work hard to keep COVID-19 out of our communities. We are strongly encouraging our team members, as well as residents and their families, to diligently follow CDC, local public health and our added Aegis Living guidance to stay extra safe during this time. We are double screening staff at every shift, conducting extensive retraining of infection control and safety protocols, and continuing our education efforts around safety practices outside of work. All staff will be tested after the Thanksgiving holiday and we will have regular testing thereafter.
We are currently managing 6 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 28 among our 2,500 staff members. Communities impacted include: Fremont, Napa, Dana Point, Ventura, Moraga, Pleasant Hill, Shadowridge, Carmichael, Shoreline, Rodgers Park, Callahan House, Kirkland Lodge, and Redmond.
We will continue to communicate regular updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff in our communities impacted. For more resources and information from the CDC visit our Expert & Family Resources page.
Upcoming Webinars for You to Enjoy
On December 2nd at 3pm we are hosting a FREE Webinar, Nourishing Your Soul Through Nature, with Sonja Bochart, a wellness design leader with an extensive background creating spaces to support both human and ecological wellbeing. In this webinar, Sonja will focus on how experiential concepts including plants, water, natural materials, sacred geometry, fractal patterns and other elements can calm the nervous systems through natural design. With the current year we’ve had, this class is sure to relax and inform you about the rejuvenating healing powers of nature. This event is open to all, and we would love to see you there.
As part of our continued support of Aegis Living residents and families, we will be hosting a webinar featuring Dr. Joe Pizzorno, an expert in science-based natural medicine and founding president of Bastyr University. He is also a member of our Coronavirus Advisory Council. On December 10th at 4pm, Dr. Pizzorno will lead a Zoom discussion on prioritizing health and wellness during the holiday season. He’ll share some practical tips and also take your questions. If you are a current family member or resident and are interested in this complimentary event, please RSVP to Kelly.Schaefer@aegisliving.com.
