November 20th Update
Getting Ready for Thanksgiving
With COVID-19 cases rapidly increasing across most of the country, many families are rethinking plans for traditional holiday gatherings. Many of us that normally gather with family and friends have made the important but difficult decision to celebrate Thanksgiving virtually. As we enter the holiday season our Aegis Living team members will be working extra hard to keep our residents safe, while also providing ample opportunities over the holidays for joy and happiness. From our festive Outdoor Living Rooms and virtual visits, to our “Any Way You Slice It” pie bar and gratitude activities, we’re focusing on creating a wonderful, safe way for our families to celebrate with their loved ones.
Where We Stand Today
We are continuing our heightened safety protocols as we work tirelessly to keep COVID-19 out of our communities. This week, we are managing 45 positive cases, with 18 amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 27 among our 2,500 staff members. We are managing the virus this week in Newcastle, Callahan, Lodge, Shoreline, Rodgers Park, Dana Point, Napa, Ventura and Moraga communities. We are continuing to communicate and reinforce safety protocols daily with our teams and are encouraging virtual Thanksgiving gatherings in order to reduce the risk of exposure. We also are conducting contact tracing testing, and we will continue to communicate regularly with updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff effected. We remain transparent in our status and will report the results of the testing in our communities to those impacted. Upcoming Webinar with Dr. Joe Pizzorno
As part of our continued support of Aegis Living residents and families, we will be hosting a webinar featuring Dr. Joe Pizzorno, an expert in science-based natural medicine and founding president of Bastyr University. He is also a member of our Coronavirus Advisory Council. On December 10th at 4pm, Dr. Pizzorno will lead a Zoom discussion on prioritizing health and wellness during the holiday season. He’ll share some practical tips and also take your questions. If you are a current family member or resident and are interested in this complimentary event, please RSVP to Kelly.Schaefer@aegisliving.com.
