November 13th Update
Honoring Hundreds of Veterans in Our Communities
This past Wednesday we celebrated the 328 military veterans who live in our communities. Together they served America for an incredible 1,562 years! Across Aegis we honored them with activities and celebrations to show our gratitude for their service to our country. Our Aptos community hosted a pinning ceremony parade, while Moraga veterans were gifted a goodie bag, balloons, and flowers. In Corte Madera veterans sipped champagne and sampled hors d’oeuvres while listening to live music. Additionally, we hosted a company-wide Veterans Day Zoom Happy Hour during which our veterans were officially recognized for their service and enjoyed a live USO-style show from The Memphis Belles.
Where We Stand Today
We remain in a state of heightened safety protocols as we work every day to keep COVID-19 out of our communities. We’ve seen national and statewide spikes in positive cases with the broader spread of the virus. This week we are managing 27 positive cases. Amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, we have 13 positive, and 14 cases among our 2,500 staff members. The communities managing the virus this week include the Lodge in Kirkland, Callahan House, Newcastle, Rodger’s Park, Issaquah, Madison, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, and Napa. We remain diligent in our protocols that have helped keep our residents and staff safe. To combat these cases, we’re conducting additional training for our teams to keep our practices well-executed, and we continue to conduct contact tracing testing as part of our rapid response culture. We will continue to communicate regularly with updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff effected, to remain transparent in our status and report the results of universal testing in our communities. Announcing Our Family Link App
This month we are thrilled to debut our Family Link app for iPhone and Android. The app allows our families the ability to see photos and activity participation of their loved ones, as well as receive important notifications from the community. This is another big step in giving families peace of mind as they can stay connected with their loved ones, right on their phones. For a more in-depth look at the Family Link app and its capabilities, check out this animated video.
