May 21st Update
Where We Stand
We are feeling the energy and excitement in our communities as life continues to feel more and more normal. We are delighted to see our residents enjoying spending time with family and friends! Spring is fully here and Mother’s Day celebrations were lovely and fun.
We continue to have no COVID-19 cases among our 2,200 residents and currently have only four cases among our 2,500 staff members. Thanks to high vaccination rates, most communities have not seen an active case since we completed our community vaccine clinics and all participants were considered fully vaccinated. As of today, nearly 95% of residents and 90% of team members have been vaccinated.
While the CDC recently released updated interim guidance on masking for fully vaccinated people, we continue to follow our own guidance and established state and local guidelines for long-term care settings. We are asking all residents—regardless of vaccination status—to continue to wear a mask when they are not eating or drinking. We will also continue to require staff to wear masks. We will continue to monitor public health updates and evaluate our own data to inform future changes to these safety practices. We know everyone is eager to keep moving forward safely—as are we.
