March 18th Update
With our California and Nevada communities now in voluntary community-wide isolation, we have all 32 communities fully aligned on this protective and preventative strategy for our residents and staff.
We are staying in lock step with the CDC and local health officials to ensure our protocols continue to reflect the latest best practices as we all continue to actively learn through this coronavirus pandemic.
Resident engagement and connection are top of the list each day. Our staff continues to make regular visits, we continue to connect residents with family and we have new digital programming in place. Tablet devices are being delivered to each community, preloaded with curated content (TED Talks, guided meditation, travelogues and more), music and other mentally stimulating apps.
Today, we also launched a new hosted entertainment show produced by Aegis Living that will be shared with residents as they remain in their rooms. It features segments on seated fitness, trivia, musical guests, a Price Is Right-style game and fun jokes and banter to entertain residents. We will continue to produce new episodes that entertain and stimulate the mind, body and spirit of our residents while they remain safely in their rooms.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our team at Aegis Living Marymoor. Letters and notes continue to pour in from families and friends. They have created a Wall of Inspiration to showcase the wonderful support they continue to receive to inspire them each day.
Aegis Living Marymoor received the remaining resident tests taken by the CDC last week and all three tests were negative. A resident that was sent to the hospital for an unrelated issue last week was tested and confirmed positive; source of exposure is unknown. Sadly, the community also lost a resident that had tested positive for coronavirus. This resident had been on hospice and in declining health before the diagnosis and cause of passing is still being determined. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn their loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to their family.
There are no other reported cases of coronavirus in other Aegis communities.
