March 16th Update
As we watch local governments and businesses put more measures in place to protect the health and well-being of all, our continued efforts to protect residents and staff across our 32 communities are further reinforced.
Washington State
All residents and staff are doing well and adjusting to our new “normal” as we continue voluntary isolation at all communities. We’re delivering delicious meals along with snacks and hydration options throughout the day. And residents are finding their favorite in-room activities – from art to music and even online fitness classes.
Those at Aegis Living Marymoor are on the mend. Team members diagnosed with coronavirus are recovering well and our residents who were diagnosed continue to improve with each passing day. No other Washington community has reported cases of coronavirus.
California and Nevada
Knowing how important prevention continues to be, we have decided to place all California and Nevada communities in voluntary community-wide isolation, as we did in Washington last week. This will go into effect tomorrow. This includes:
- No visitors, including family, will be allowed into the community. Exceptions will of course be made for essential visits, including end-of-life situations.
- All residents will remain in their apartments, avoiding any common spaces and interaction with other residents. We are bringing meals, snacks and in-room activities to residents each day – whether it be a Skype visit with family, daily activity packets, live music from the hallways or trying out some of the new digital entertainment programs.
- In addition to closely monitoring all residents for signs of illness, we are checking their temperatures and oxygen saturation daily. We are also checking temperatures for all staff members and anyone who enters the community for what has been deemed an essential visit.
We have no reported cases of coronavirus in California or Nevada.
