January 8th Update

Our First Vaccine Clinic

Our Vaccine Task Force is hard at work scheduling COVID-19 vaccine clinics for residents and staff at every one of our communities. While the rollout nationwide has been slower than anticipated, we’re happy to share that our first vaccine clinic was held this week at our community in Moraga, California. We have several additional communities confirmed, and we’re working fast and furiously with our CVS Pharmacy Partner to schedule the remaining vaccine clinics. We are grateful for our amazing teams who have been working diligently to prepare for the clinics and making sure we are ready to go. If you have questions, we encourage you to review our Frequently Asked Questions and visit trusted sources like the CDC website for more in-depth medical information.

Additionally, we are participating in a trial with The Gates Foundation and Corteva with the goal to test 100,000 people in one day in one lab. Their goals include demonstrating the ability to increase testing capacity in small labs and large which will help to reduce the cost of testing, increase testing frequency, and enable more viable testing options throughout the world. This week our communities received Corteva Collection Kits and are beginning the process of acquiring samples.

Where We Stand Today

It is now more important than ever that we stay vigilant and diligent in our infection control and safety protocols. We will continue taking extra preventative measures, including frequent testing, and remain laser-focused on everything we can do to keep the virus out of our communities. This week we are managing 44 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 40 among our 2,500 staff members. For details about a specific community, please reach out to that community’s General Manager or email questions@aegisliving.com. We will continue to communicate regularly with updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff effected, to remain transparent in our status and report the results of universal testing in our communities to those impacted. Cheers to 2021!

Last week, our communities made sure to create fun activities for our residents as we rang in the new year. Several communities threw socially distanced celebrations and wheeled champagne and Martinelli’s door-to-door. In 2021, we are dedicated to continue to help every resident find moments of joy each day – whether it be a phone call with family, playing them a special song that brings about fond memories, or just being by their side to talk about how the day is going. We love spending this quality time with our residents. Cheers to the new and better year ahead!
