January 22nd Update

Over Half of Our Communities Vaccinated

Vaccination clinics are underway at Aegis Living, and we have now hosted the first clinic at over half of our 32 communities. We are anticipating all communities will have hosted clinics by early February, which is very exciting news. We are already working hard with our pharmacy partner CVS to schedule the second dose of the two-part vaccine for all residents and staff. According to the CDC and other medical sources, for those who complete their second dose, we can expect the vaccine to be in effect within two weeks. Our goal continues to be having 100% of our residents and staff vaccinated, an incredible milestone to help us better protect one another. If you have questions, we encourage you to review our Frequently Asked Questions and visit trusted sources like the CDC website for more in-depth medical information.

Where We Stand Today

This week, we are managing 34 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 36 among our 2,500 staff members. During this time, we are maintaining our current, vigilant infection control and safety practices, including mask-wearing and social distancing. Our visitor policies will also remain the same until we hear otherwise from medical experts and local health authorities.

For details about a specific community, please reach out to that community’s General Manager or email questions@aegisliving.com. As always, we are communicating regularly with updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff affected, to remain transparent in our status and report the results of universal testing in our communities to those impacted. Honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

This past Monday, we celebrated the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he stood for. We are thankful for the diversity of our teams and residents. We are grateful that, no matter who we are, where we come from, or what our life experiences are, we are part of a loving community that supports and encourages one another. At our Moraga community, the Life Enrichment team put together several activities, such as playing Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches for our residents and reflecting on the ways that we can continue to make a difference in our communities by advocating for everyone. Dr. King remains an inspiration for all of us.
