January 15th Update

Vaccination Clinics Underway!

We’re excited to share the fantastic news that after this weekend, we will have completed vaccine clinics at almost half of our Aegis Living communities, and we have dates for our other communities coming very soon. In every clinic, we’ve been able to vaccinate almost all of our residents and over 75% (on average) of our team members. It’s important to note that there has not been a single adverse reaction. As we schedule second follow-up clinics, we are working toward 100% vaccination, which is what is going to keep our communities safe.

Our Life Enrichment teams have been doing a great job turning every vaccination clinic into a party – with balloons, food, drinks and fun. We owe an immense debt of gratitude to our team members who have been organizing clinics in partnership with our CVS pharmacy partner. If you have questions, we encourage you to review our Frequently Asked Questions and visit trusted sources like the CDC website for more in-depth medical information.

Where We Stand Today

We are continuing to remain diligent in our infection control and safety protocols, which includes taking extra preventative measures, such as weekly testing, and requiring our teams to wear both masks and face shields. This week, we are managing 30 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 33 among our 2,500 staff members. For details about a specific community, please reach out to that community’s General Manager or email questions@aegisliving.com. As always, we are communicating regularly with updates via email and phone to our residents, their families and the staff effected, to remain transparent in our status and report the results of universal testing in our communities to those impacted. A Fabulous 100th Birthday Celebration

Our amazing Life Enrichment teams strive to make birthdays, holidays, and every day fun and memorable for our residents. Earlier this month, our team at Lynnwood had the honor of celebrating the 100th birthday of resident Kay Gilmore. They decorated for the party and arranged a Zoom celebration with Kay’s family. Kay spent an hour and a half on the Zoom call with four generations of her family. Over the course of the day “Happy Birthday” was sung to her about 15 times! It’s a moment like this that reminds us how special our job is and how privileged we are to be a part of our wonderful residents’ lives.
