Second Dose Vaccine Clinics Are Underway!

We are happy to share that every Aegis Living community has completed its first clinic, and many second clinics have also already been completed! All second clinics will be done by the end of February, and we have scheduled third clinics for each community as well. We are so grateful for our amazing teams who have worked so hard to make these important events a success. We continue to be thrilled with the energy at each clinic and residents’ and team members’ eagerness to receive the vaccine.

We are continuing to follow our infection control and safety practices until we are certain it is safe for us to begin adopting new practices and protocols. Where We Stand Today

This week, we are managing 28 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 29 among our 2,500 staff members. During this time, we are maintaining our current, vigilant infection control and safety practices, including mask-wearing and social distancing. Our visitor policies will also remain the same until we hear otherwise from medical experts and local health authorities.

Celebrating Lunar New Year & Valentine’s Day

This Friday we wish a happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate it in our communities, especially in our Aegis Gardens communities in Newcastle, WA and Fremont, CA who are celebrating with several socially distanced activities for our residents. At Newcastle, one of our beloved residents, whom we affectionately call Mrs. Happy, is making her famous Turnip Cake recipe to share with her friends. We can’t wait to try it! We have a fun week planned for our residents with activities including singing traditional Lunar New Year songs, passing out “lucky” treat bags and an in-house Lion Dance parade from the Life Enrichment team! Our culinary team has also put together a beautiful Lunar New Year menu.

Additionally, Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and our residents have been having so much fun in small activities groups again. This week they enjoyed a lot of Valentine’s Day crafts during our Craft Corners. To make our residents feel special, our Life Enrichment teams have been pulling out all the stops including decorating our residents’ doors and planning virtual Valentine’s Day parties and door-to-door Valentine deliveries.
