December 4th Update

Holiday Happenings at Aegis

As December gets underway, it feels everyone is getting into the holiday spirit earlier than ever this year—and we’re excited to start celebrating, too. For residents, our “12 Days of Holiday Cheer” program will kick off Thursday, December 10th and go through Monday, December 21st. All communities have their own unique event calendar, which will include safe and socially distanced celebrations, with special treats and drinks, entertainment, crafts, and more. Each community will also be transformed into a Winter Wonderland for residents to enjoy!

Where We Stand Today

As cases continue to rise, we remain dedicated to our heightened safety and infection control protocols as we work to keep COVID-19 out of our communities. We are strongly encouraging our team members, as well as residents and their families, to diligently follow public health official guidelines and our added Aegis Living protocols. This week, we are managing 12 cases amid our 2,200 residents across the west coast, and 31 among our 2,500 staff members. For details about a specific community, please reach out to that community’s General Manager or email questions@aegisliving.com.

We will continue to communicate regularly with our residents, their families and the staff in impacted communities, and report the results of universal testing. For more resources and information from the CDC visit our Expert & Family Resources page.

Don’t forget! Dec. 10th Webinar

Dr. Joe Pizzorno: Wellness During the Holidays

Next week, on Thursday, December 10th at 4pm, we will be hosting a webinar featuring Dr. Joe Pizzorno on wellness during the holidays. Dr. Pizzorno is an expert in science-based natural medicine, founding president of Bastyr University (a world-renowned academic institution focused on the natural health arts and science), and a member of the Aegis Living Coronavirus Advisory Council. The discussion will focus on prioritizing health and wellness during the holiday season, and he’ll share some practical tips and take your questions.

*Correction: In the email that went out on Wednesday, December 2nd, from our Founder/CEO Dwayne Clark and our President Kris Engskov, we shared that a vaccine from Oxford was formally approved in the UK. However, the vaccine that was formally approved in the UK was from Pfizer.
