California Power Outage Updates

Affecting: California Aegis Living communities.

Dear Family and Friends,

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) announced it would potentially be suspending utility services to many parts of the Bay Area beginning Wednesday, 10/9/19 with interruptions expected through Friday. You can read more about PG&E’s plans:

Southern California counties have been added to the list of planned outages as well. Southern California Edison’s website reflects possible public safety power shutoffs if weather creates an elevated fire risk.

We are closely monitoring the developments and will update this page as outages are scheduled. We have found the PG&E schedule to be fairly inconsistent with the actual outages. Still, a number of standard operating safety protocols and routines are in place and we are prepared for this type of incident company-wide. Moreover, our teams are actively following our robust preparations and procedures to best meet the needs of our residents during normal and extraordinary circumstances, which is always our number one priority. 

To keep the days full and residents comfortable, our Life Enrichment and Culinary teams are working creatively on menus and entertaining programming to spark a bit of whimsy should we lose power at the scheduled times below and they are estimated to last 48 hours or more.

We also know you may prefer your family member stay with you during this time.  If that is the case, please contact your community general manager directly.
