John Carpentier, Executive Director

When you meet John Carpentier, the Executive Director at Aegis of Shoreline, you may suspect that he is just another guy in a suit, but listen to him talk about his residents and you’ll see his face light up, and you’ll know that he is something different. Rarely in life do we encounter a person that makes us wish to be better then we are. But when you do, you realize its time to stand up and take notice, and absorb every bit you can.

In John’s previous life, he was the General Manager for Spacelabs – a cutting edge healthcare technology company. Prior to that, he was the president of Healthcare Service International and director at Philips Medical. A self-proclaimed workaholic and corporate man through and through, John’s world changed when his parents were simultaneously diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He quickly realized that he wanted to help people like his parents and to give back to those who had given so much. He found his true calling at Aegis Living, where he channels his exceptional operational skills and unwavering passion for his job.

John was with Aegis of Edmonds for a year and a half  before coming to Aegis of Shoreline.  He has already earned both the ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Executive Director of the Year’ awards. More importantly, he has earned the love and admiration of his residents and families who see John taking care of his residents as if they were one of his own.

Mike Cowan, Employee of the Month

“Mikey” is known for his warm smile, kind hard, and incredibly funny sense of humor. His passion, enthusiasm, and incredible work ethic, have earned him the position of employee of the month.  Thank you, “Mikey” for being so amazing, and such an asset to our community.  

Lisa Elijah, Activities Director

Lisa has been our Activities Director for over four years and is the master planner for our community’s extensive activities program. Lisa brings a wealth of experience and fun to her position – as a Certified Activities Director, Lisa says the key is to get to know each and every resident personally so that the programming reflects the residents’ interests and abilities. After 17 years in broadcast production with Channel 5 News, Lisa wanted a career that allowed her to be more in touch with people in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Aegis of Shoreline was the perfect fit! Lisa can be seen with a spring in her step, and always with a warm smile, leading the community to stay physically active and socially engaged… simply put, “Living for Life”!

Lisa has three teenage kids who keep her busy outside of work. She is an avid photographer and specializes in family portraits.

Judy Adams, Health Services Director

Judy has an extensive career in the health services profession including 42 years in the specific field of long-term care. As a Registered Nurse and past Director of Nursing & Administration for a number of skilled nursing facilities, Judy draws on a wealth of experience to take great care of our residents. Going on her 6th year with Aegis Living, Judy can be found making her rounds and visiting with residents here at Aegis of Shoreline. She believes that through good care and communication, we are able to keep residents happy & healthy which in turn keeps the families of residents happy too!

When not on duty at Aegis of Shoreline, Judy spends time at home with her three sons and two dogs. She enjoys reading and is an avid Seattle Mariners fan!

Trisha Kostis, Culinary Services Director

Trisha has been working in the restaurant industry for nearly thirty years. As an artisan baker, executive chef, private chef and business owner, she has ample experience in all facets of the culinary field. Trisha remains on the cutting edge of cuisine trends and has worked with TV personalities and Iron Chef contenders.

Recently, Trisha was in Florida caring for her parents in their home. Immersing herself in the senior community and active in the local Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, Trisha made many lifelong friends while there and was grateful to have the opportunity to care for her parents and other seniors with Alzheimers.

Returning to Seattle and coming to work for Aegis of Shoreline is a perfect opportunity for her to combine her passion for cooking with her love for the senior community.

Janaira Stokes, Marketing Director

A Seattle Pacific University graduate, Janaira has spent the last several years in the hospitality industry. Throughout the years, she searched for a product or service she would truly feel good marketing to others, and finally she discovered her calling at our community! This has been a wonderful and life changing year for Janaira, as she and her husband Christopher recently become proud parents of a beautiful baby girl – Jordyn Daniel Stokes. They also have two dogs, a black lab named Tyson and a little four pound toy yorkie named Bean. Janaira has an endless amount of energy and passion and we are all thrilled to welcome her into our Aegis family!
