Enjoy these notes written to our staff members from family and friends of residents. We call them WOW stories, because they are tales about Aegis Living team members who provided such a high level of service that it knocked the socks off appreciative residents – touching their hearts and ours.
We hired a Sinatra impersonator for Valentine’s Day and invited potential residents to join us. One couple came who has been considering Aegis of Granada Hills for two years! The wife refuses to leave her home and she still cares for her sweet husband who has dementia.
After the show, their daughters came to me with tears in their eyes. They shared that they hadn’t seen Dad so happy and animated in years and that he knew the words to all the songs and couldn’t stop tapping his feet! But what really shocked them was that he grabbed Mom’s hand during one of “their songs” and never let go.
Because of his dementia, they hadn’t held hands in years. Isn’t it amazing how great music can touch so many people on all levels?
This is why we do what we do….making life better!
