Sugar is one of the greatest culprits of Alzheimer’s disease, said Dwayne Clark, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Aegis Living. Clark stated that the disease is not really preventable, but there are ways to slow the process. According to the Alzheimer’s Association website, dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. Memory loss is an example, and Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia.

January 30th, 2015 (Tukwila) 93 year-old Aegis of Kent resident Charles Asay wanted to go skydiving on his birthday last fall. His family said no. So the staff at Aegis of Kent came up with the next best thing, an indoor dive at IFly in nearby Tuwila. The Kent Reporter captured the story as Charles, a World War II veteran from the 101st Airborne, got a taste of what it felt like more than sixty years ago when he parachuted into Normandy on D-Day in 1944.
